Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need need a robot with a wire, or can I go for a wireless option?
- The suitability of RTK robots depends on the garden. Generally, RTK robots require an antenna with a clear line of sight in all upward directions to connect with as many available satellites as possible. Mounting the antenna high on a building, with an unobstructed view of the sky, is ideal.
- Next, it’s important to assess the complexity of the garden. Small gardens with good WiFi or 4G signals typically pose no issues. However, larger gardens may require boosting of the RTK signal, especially when the robot needs to travel several hundred metres from the antenna.
- A strong WiFi or 4G connection, ideally both, is essential for optimal performance.
- Another consideration is the level of cover in the garden. Robots with AI cameras, such as the latest Segway models, can navigate under tree cover, while robots without cameras need extremely clear canopies. Our current range includes robots with cameras of varying capabilities, as this feature is better suited to typical UK gardens.
- If all else fails, wired robots are a reliable, tried-and-tested option. While installation can be more expensive and less flexible in terms of adapting to changing areas, wired robots provide a dependable solution when RTK performance is uncertain.
- Do you install?
- All of our robots can be self-installed by any competent individual. However, around 50% of our customers still choose professional installation. We offer installation services throughout the South East of England, with the option to install further afield by agreement.
- Where do you ship?
- Nationally throughout the UK.
- Do you service robots?
- Customers who purchase their robotic lawn mower through us can also have it serviced by us. We offer a convenient Pick-Up and Drop-Off service, which is handled by a third party outside the South East. For this reason, we highly recommend keeping the original packaging.
- How do we get spare blades?
- Blades are available for all of our ranges through us and widely online.
- Do robot lawn mower need lawn treatments?
- This is subjective, but it’s widely recognised that lawn chemicals are harmful to the environment. Therefore, minimising their use as much as possible while still achieving your desired lawn standard is the right approach. What is indisputable, however, is that robotic lawn mowers mulch grass, providing a significant boost to plant nutrition compared to traditional lawn mowing methods. Generally speaking, for prized lawns, robotic lawn care typically requires around 30% fewer chemicals.
- Which robot brand is the best?
- There is no one-size-fits-all robot lawn mower brand. Key factors to consider include budget, the likely lifespan of the product, availability of spares, and aftercare from a trusted company like ours (many brands lack authorised partners for servicing and repairs). After addressing these considerations, the next factors to evaluate are lawn size, the environment, terrain type, and grass variety. For all these reasons, we highly recommend seeking expert advice before making a purchase – SPEAK TO AN EXPERT.
- I only want to purchase a robot mower, not any of your other services. Can I?
- This is why we launched our webshop. While our service ability is limited, technology allows us to help more customers achieve better standards in their gardens. We are here to advise and supply at every level, providing the same exceptional aftersales service that our established customer base is accustomed to.
